The thirteenth session of the Global Food Market Information Group took place at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy. Meeting participants discussed the current market situation and outlook of the four AMIS crops and reviewed near-term risks and uncertainties in global food markets, including those surrounding potential new tariff and quota measures on soybeans. The meeting also revisited the issue of food grain stocks, which are an important measure to better understand food market dynamics and assess the risk of increased market volatility. At the end of the meeting, Argentina passed on the chairmanship of AMIS to Canada.
