The AMIS Secretariat Steering Committee met on 15 June 2023 at FAO headquarters in Rome to discuss the AMIS work programme and overall strategic direction, and to prepare for the 23rd session of the Global Food Market Information Group held on 15-16 June 2023.

The Steering Committee is the decision-making body of the AMIS Secretariat. It is composed of one representative of each of the ten member organizations of AMIS. Meetings are closed to the public, but the current and incoming AMIS Chair are participating as observers. Given the focus of this particular meeting, the disicussions were also attended by observers from FAO's Global Information and Early Warning System (GIEWS) as well as the acting Secretary and Vice Chair, respectively, of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS).
