The sixth session of the Global Food Market Information Group was held over two days.

• 9 October: Delegates were updated on the progress of AMIS and took part in discussions regarding the global outlook for the AMIS commodities. The AMIS evaluation Framework was presented and the subject of forecasting and remote sensing of AMIS crops was discussed. Five countries also reported back to the meeting on their experiences of performing a monthly analysis of their supply and demand balances.
• 10 October: The meeting concentrated on policy and research, hearing from the Secretariat and the Russian Federation. The estimation of feed use of AMIS crops was discussed and the meeting heard about Research initiatives by AMIS participating countries and partners. The afternoon was devoted to a workshop on the policy database developed by the Secretariat.
