Notable outcomes of this meeting include the election of the Group on Earth Observations Global Agricultural Monitoring initiative (GEOGLAM) as the eleventh member of the AMIS Secretariat. The meeting furthercome elected the Director of FAO's Trade and Markets Division, Mr. Boubaker Ben-Belhassen, for another one-year term as Chair of the AMIS Secretariat Steering Committee.

The AMIS Secretariat Steering Committee is a decision-making body of the AMIS Secretariat. It helps in co-ordinating the different activities and inputs of the international organizations and entities that form the Secretariat. Meetings of the Steering Committee are usually conducted back-to-back to other AMIS meetings, for example of the Global Food Market Information Group. They are closed to the public, while the outgoing and incoming AMIS Chair are invited as Observers to discussions on the annual workplan and budget.
