Joseph Glauber will serve as interim Secretary of the Agricultural Market Information System following the retirement of Abdolreza Abbassian in January. Glauber is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute in Washington.

Prior to joining IFPRI in 2015, Glauber spent over 30 years at the U.S. Department of Agriculture including as Chief Economist from 2008 to 2014. He is the author of numerous studies on agricultural insurance, agricultural policy, and agricultural trade issues. Glauber has been involved with AMIS since its inception, serving as the US representative to AMIS (including as Chair in 2012-13) and later through his association with IFPRI.
